Daniluk Farm and Stables Equestrian Team
The Daniluk Farm and Stables Equestrian Team had a successful season in 2016-2017, with wins including High Point High School Team, Reserve High Point High School Team, and team member Kyle Betts winning the Sportsmanship Award. We are looking forward to another great season in 2017-2018!
The Daniluk Farm and Stables Equestrian Team competes in Zone 2, Region 3 of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, or IEA. At IEA competitions team members compete on horses provided by the host team which are drawn by lottery at a level appropriate to the rider's lesson and show experience. This helps level the playing field. Riders are judged on their equitation, or position and effectiveness on the horse, and have the opportunity to qualify for Regional, Zone, and National Finals. The IEA is an excellent extracurricular activity for college applications and offers a great opportunity for a young rider to experience riding many different horses.
Erica Freiburger coaches the Daniluk Farm and Stables Equestrian Team. During her years as a student at Syracuse University, Erica competed successfully on the Syracuse University Equestrian Team in the IHSA, which is the college equivalent of the IEA. This experience gives Erica unique insight into the requirements for a young rider's success in this competition format.
